Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial
Model: Volkswagen Golf
MK 4, Golf IV, Golf 4
- Years 1997-2003 The wear of the aluminum inserts present on the mouth of the intercooler sleeve to the throttle body does not allow the fixing pin to correctly keep the sleeve itself in its seat, which therefore tends to come off. There is a repair kit on the market consisting of a semicircular flange, two fairly long screws and two bushings that act as a spacer: the idea is to recreate a sort of collar that holds the sleeve firmly in its seat. Then remove the original split pin, replace the o-ring gasket, unscrew the two fixing pins of the throttle body and replace them with those of the kit by applying the spacers and the collar that will have to grip the outer edge of the aluminum insert: once the pins the sleeve will be firmly fixed.
