Instructions for Removing the Gearbox

Model: Volkswagen Transporter T25, T3, MK 3 - Years 1979-1990

The engine of the vehicle in question is positioned at the rear: start by opening the engine bay and giving a general clean before beginning to dismantle and disconnect the battery. Remove the air filter housing, the intake hose, the starter motor, the CV joints from the driveshaft on the gearbox side, the clutch linkage, and the gear cables. Also remove the support that connects the gearbox to the chassis, the section of exhaust pipe that runs under the gearbox, free the grommets that interfere with the dismantling, and finally remove the pins that secure the gearbox flange to the engine to completely remove it. At this point, proceed with the replacement of the clutch, flywheel, and primary shaft bearing included in the kit. Then reverse the process for reassembly.
