Replacement of Cabin Air Filter

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005

The cabin air filter in the car model in question is located on the passenger side, just below the dashboard, above the heel plate; to access the filter housing, first remove the sound-absorbing cover made of a foam panel secured with plastic screws; once you reach the filter housing, remove the cover by sliding it sideways like a drawer to extract the old filter; remove any dirt residues present and insert the new filter (activated carbon filters are recommended), then reassemble the cover and the foam panel.
