Where is the speed sensor located on the Volkswagen Golf and how to replace it?

This video shows where the speed sensor is located on the Volkswagen Golf MK4 and how to proceed if you need to replace it. As shown, it is located on the left side of the engine, or to your right when looking at the car from the front. To access and then remove it, first remove the indicated engine mount. To do this, position a jack under the gearbox, then undo the two indicated bolts and follow the black cable until you find the sensor. Disconnect it using a flathead screwdriver and unscrew the mounting screw of the base.
