Check Engine Control Unit Fault Codes

If the engine anomaly light illuminates on the instrument cluster, check which fault code has been stored by the control unit to understand the source of the fault: you can also purchase an aftermarket fault code reader to connect to the OBD port and read or clear the fault codes. In this case, error P0299 refers to the adjustment of the boost pressure, indicating a value below the adjustment limit. It could be a simple damaged pipe or a stuck variable geometry actuator: before panicking, thoroughly check the pipes that supply vacuum to the actuator and ensure it is functioning.
