Disassembly of Steering Column for VW Passat

Model: Volkswagen Passat 3BG, B5 - Years 1996-2005
Part: Tie rods

First, check the relevant fuse for the steering equipment control. If the fuse is intact, proceed to remove the bolts securing the control arms to the wheel assembly. Following the diagram in the video, identify the bolts to unscrew in order to remove all control arms. Next, remove the bolts securing the universal joint. Once all bolts are removed, ensure you have support to hold all disassembled parts. Disconnect the connector from the power steering. Now that you have extracted the entire steering branch assembly, you can also disassemble the steering arms. After performing the necessary maintenance, reassemble everything by following the steps in reverse.
