Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Model: Volkswagen Golf Golf IV, MK 4, Golf 4 - Years 1997-2003

Lift the bonnet and remove the bolts securing the plastic engine cover and the oil level indicator. Take off the cover; if necessary, circulate an oil additive for about 20 minutes with the engine running. Now remove the plug from the sump underneath the engine and prepare a container to collect the used oil. Once all the oil has drained, replace the oil filter by unscrewing the plug and pulling out the entire plug with the filter. Replace it along with the relevant seals and reinsert everything into the filter housing. Now replace the sump plug and add the new engine oil. You're done.
