In the Volkswagen Passat, all fuses are contained within specific fuse boxes located in the vehicle. There are three of these boxes in this type of car. The first is located on the side of the dashboard on the driver's side, accessible by opening the door; this contains fuses for the courtesy lights, horn, instrument panel, etc. The second is located on the opposite side of the dashboard; it contains fuses for the courtesy lights, air conditioning, etc. The last box is found to the right of the engine compartment; it contains fuses for the fuel pump, radiator fan, etc.
