The box containing all the various fuses of your Volvo S40 second series is located inside the passenger compartment. In order to be able to locate it independently in order to intervene on the fuses, you must follow the following steps.

First of all, reach the front passenger seat and open the glove compartment. At this point, remove the protective cover with your own hands and locate the fuses you were looking for. We remind you that for safety reasons, you cannot intervene on them without first disconnecting the car battery.
