Steering Wheel Removal and Replacement

Before proceeding with the removal of the steering wheel, it is advisable to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery to avoid warning lights on the dashboard.
The first operation to perform is to remove the airbag container: immediately behind the steering wheel, in a lateral position, you need to unscrew the two Torx screws of 30 securing it. At this point, disconnect the connectors of the airbag detonator and the steering wheel controls, taking care to unclip the safety clips first.
Before removing the steering wheel, lock the airbag spiral with the supplied screw: at the bottom centre of the steering wheel, there is a screw that must be removed and screwed into the corresponding hole where the wiring exits.
You can now unscrew the steering wheel retaining bolt with an 18mm socket. It is advisable to mark a reference for the position of removal with the wheels straight before pulling off the steering wheel. At this point, remove the steering wheel and insert the new one, respecting the marked references.
Screw the steering wheel retaining bolt back in; unscrew the safety screw of the spiral group and reposition it in its seat; reconnect the connectors to the airbag container and screw the two Torx screws back in. Reconnect the negative terminal of the battery and carry out a check of the operation of the wiper controls, indicators, and ensure no warning lights are illuminated on the dashboard.
