Before proceeding with the disassembly of the steering wheel, it is advisable to disconnect the negative pole of the battery to avoid the lighting of warning lights on the instrument panel. The first operation to be carried out is to remove the airbag container: immediately behind the steering wheel, in a lateral position, it is necessary to unscrew the two 30 fixing torx screws. At this point disconnect the airbag detonator sockets and the steering wheel controls, paying attention to release the safety devices first. Before removing the steering wheel, lock the spiral of the airbag tape with the supplied screw: a screw is positioned at the bottom center of the steering wheel, which must be removed and screwed in correspondence with the cable outlet where there is the appropriate hole. It is now possible to unscrew the steering wheel fixing pin with an 18mm socket wrench. It is advisable to mark a reference for the removal position with the wheels straight before removing the steering wheel. At this point, remove the steering wheel and insert the new one, respecting the reference marks. Screw the steering wheel fixing pin; unscrew the safety locking screw of the spiral unit and reposition it in its seat; reconnect the sockets to the airbag container and retighten the two torx fixing screws. Reconnect the negative pole of the battery and check the operation of the wiper controls, direction indicators and above all that no warning light has come on on the instrument panel.
