BMW Serie 1 - Video tutorial
Model: BMW Serie 1
F20, F21, MK 2
- Years 2011-2019 In this video tutorial we can see how to perform a complete service on the BMW 1 series 118d. The first thing to do is buy: a cabin filter, an air filter, a diesel filter, an oil filter and the engine oil suitable for this type of vehicle: 5 liters SAE 5W-30 (see the specifications in the use and maintenance manual). Jack the car up with a hydraulic jack and put jack stands and a tire underneath for safety. Using a 17 spanner, remove the sump plug, place a basin underneath to collect the used oil and wait for all the oil to flow inside. In the engine compartment we go to remove the oil filter, with a jack wrench with a 27 socket; once the old oil filter has been removed, fit the new one, then tighten the oil container, with a torque wrench tightening to 25Nm. Now we have to replace the diesel filter, then disassemble the filter cover which is made up of 8 screws; once the cover has been unhooked, let's remove the diesel filter with a 13 wrench and replace it with the new one together with the new gasket. Finally, put the oil pan cap back on and top up 5 litres. The oil through the funnel. Bleed the diesel filter simply by entering the car and starting the engine. Replace the air and cabin filter.
