Changing Engine Oil and Filter

Model: BMW Serie 3 E46 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Engine oil

Obtain the correct amount of oil suitable for your engine type. Lift the vehicle with appropriate jacks and secure it with suitable supports to prevent it from falling, allowing you to work safely. Place a plastic sheet and an oil catch pan under the engine. Unscrew the oil cap on the oil pan and let it drain. Using a ratchet wrench, gently unscrew the oil filter and remove it from its seat. Replace the used filter cartridge with a new one, also replacing the o-ring gasket. Close the oil cap, reinstall the oil filter, and top off with new oil. After a test run, check the oil level again. Do not dispose of used oil in the environment; take it to appropriate collection centers.
