Let's see how to change the EGR valve on a Citroen C4 II: first, it is always advisable to disconnect the negative terminal of the battery, although you will need to re-enter the radio code later; then remove the engine cover. You will need to remove some components: disconnect the pipe from the turbo, then the other end from the resonator. Using a T20 Torx key, unscrew the two fastening screws of the brake fluid reservoir, then move it sideways without disconnecting the pipes. Disconnect the MAF connector; remove the breather pipe, and take off the air boxes by unscrewing the silent block screws and those of the filter flange. Finally, you will see the EGR valve: disconnect the connector, unscrew the fastening screws, and remove the valve. Clean the seat, ensuring that carbon residues do not fall into the manifold. Fit the new valve, which can be found on AliExpress with code 1005009973962958 for £189.90, including delivery charges. Use the new gasket and secure it with the two fastening screws. Reconnect the electrical connector and reassemble all components in reverse order: air box, turbo intake pipe, MAF connector, silent block screws, brake fluid reservoir, engine cover, and negative battery cable. Start the engine and let it run for a few minutes.
