The most important things are the documents, the license plates, and the chassis number, three elements that must match each other. The identification plate, which is affixed at the end of production, contains the approval number, the version, and the color code. We should check that there is no anti-rust coating under the battery and under the spare wheel: indeed, it often happened that water would accumulate in these areas, leading to rust, just as it does in the wheel arches and fenders. The inner and outer door sills should also be inspected for the same reason. Rust is also a problem for the floor pans, which can sometimes be difficult to examine due to mats or carpeting. There could also be rust on the back of the rear seats. And now comes the exciting part: the engine, which we will also check for its stamping that - very importantly - must not only match the code in the documents but also have the same font as that of the chassis. We then check that the grille is consistent with the car's year of manufacture. Finally, we go to inspect the vehicle equipped with a small magnet because if there are putty-filled areas on the bodywork, the magnet will not stick.

How to Open the Bonnet on the Lancia Y

To open the bonnet on this vehicle, follow these simple instructions: first, open the driver's door and locate the lever positioned just below the dashboard, marked with an image of the vehicle with the bonnet open.
