How to get to the filter of a Ford 2.0 TDCi Duratorq engine

In this video we can see how to reach the oil filter on a 2.0 TDCi Duratorq engine, notoriously located in a very inconvenient position under the intake manifold, and it is difficult to access it with traditional tools. We will need a 27mm socket, a nut and bolt with a 14mm head, a socket wrench or flexible extension, and a standard socket wrench for the fastening bolt. We lift the car with a jack, and if we find it obstructing, we remove the air intake manifold, and we build our tool: we insert a bolt into the 27mm socket, screw a nut onto the top of the bolt and tighten it well; in this way the socket becomes a sort of handle, which we will position on the oil filter head; we use a 14mm socket wrench to turn the socket counterclockwise. Once loosened, we completely unscrew the filter cover by hand; we remove the filter cartridge and clean the housing with a cloth. We insert the new cartridge, which we will lubricate with engine oil, screw the cover by hand and tighten it slightly with the DIY tool. Then we add engine oil and start the engine for a couple of minutes, in order to check for any leaks.
