Cylinder Head Gasket Replacement

Model: Ford Focus MK 2, Focus 2 - Years 2004-2011
Part: Engine

Start by checking for any warping of the cylinder head surface using a straight edge and a feeler gauge; repeat the same check on the cylinder block; clean the threads of the cylinder head bolt holes without letting any debris fall into the cylinders; check for piston interference with a digital depth gauge; position the new gasket and then the cylinder head, securing it with a new set of bolts that must be tightened using both a torque wrench and a standard wrench; then proceed to install the camshafts and the connecting chain, ensuring to respect the timing references, and complete the installation of the respective mounting brackets; then insert the support pins for the valve rocker arms and the rockers themselves to complete the closure of the cylinder head. Insert the timing oil seals, install the respective pulleys, and then the timing belt. Finally, install the intake manifold and the rocker cover, replacing the gaskets and O-rings, as well as the exhaust manifold and the thermostat.

Installation of Upgraded Intercooler Radiator with Pipes

Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands, remove the front wheels, and then the front bumper and grille. Proceed to remove the front headlights; drain the coolant, remove the intercooler radiator and the hoses connecting it to the intake system. Position the new intercooler radiator in the grille, temporarily securing it with cable ties, and mark with a marker the part of the metal that needs to be removed to allow the new hoses to pass through. Cut the marked portion of metal and apply a gasket to the edge. Remove the inner cover of the bumper and position it near the radiator to identify any interfering parts to eliminate: again, apply a gasket to the edge of the cut. Create brackets for securing the new radiator and proceed with the installation of the connecting pipes from the radiator to the intake, shaping and connecting them appropriately. Finally, reassemble the bumper, headlights, and grille.
