How to Remove the Pistons from a Hyundai Elantra

How do you remove the engine pistons from a Hyundai? This operation is not straightforward, but with patience, it can be done by anyone. First, lift the car on a column lift to your preferred height, unscrew the drain plug of the oil sump and let it drain into a disposal container, then re-screw the plug. Unscrew all the side plastics from the engine cover using a cordless drill, then unscrew the plastic from the oil sump and pull it away with a screwdriver. Unscrew the bolts of the belt, remove the plastic panel on the cylinder head, and pull out the dipstick. Disconnect all the clamps from the pipes in the engine bay, unscrew all the bolts from the cylinder head and remove it along with the gasket. Now remove the air filter kit to access the throttle body; it cannot be removed without taking out the filter. Disconnect the metal clips from the various hoses and the fuel connectors as shown in the video. Unscrew the securing bolts of the engine exhaust from the bottom and carefully pull it out of the bay. Another step is to remove the alternator with its cables, remove the engine chain cover with all its bolts, pull the chain out of its housing, and now unscrew the cylinder head with a cordless drill. Be careful to extract all the bolts from their seats, the camshaft, and place everything in a container. Remove the battery from the engine bay and all the electrical components disassembled so far. Remove and take out the engine block, now use a ratchet to unscrew the bolts on the block, then remove the cylinder head and the engine connecting rods. Remove the pistons by unscrewing the pieces at the bottom of the engine, pull the pieces out of the cylinders and remove the gaskets with a special expander. Clean all the previously disassembled parts from dirt and sealant residues.
