Follow these steps for the removal and installation of oil and filter on a Lancia Ypsilon: open the car door and pull up the engine compartment release lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, and lift the front bonnet. Secure it. Using a strap wrench, undo the oil filter.

Remove the worn oil filter, undo the drain plug of the oil sump (allow the used oil to drain into a container) and refit it afterwards. Install a new filter in the container, ensuring it fits snugly against the walls.

Finally, refit the oil filler cap and top up the engine. Close the front bonnet.
