Engine Oil and Oil Filter Replacement

Model: Mazda 6 GG, MK 1 - Years 2002-2008

Lift the vehicle on suitable axle stands or ramps, remove the plastic undertray, and locate the drain plug of the oil sump (found at the rear): position a suitable container under the plug and unscrew it to allow the used oil to drain out; once the draining is complete, refit the plug. In front of the oil sump is the oil filter housing: unscrew the metal cap at the bottom to allow the oil to drain and then unscrew the plastic cap to extract the filter cartridge; insert the new one, replacing the O-ring on the cap before refitting it. Fill the engine with new oil according to the quantities and SAE specifications indicated in the owner's manual.
