How to Replace Spark Plugs on the Mercedes A-Class W168

Replacing the spark plugs is a maintenance task that you can easily do yourself, but it's important to take some precautions. First, wait for the engine to cool down to avoid burns. Once you have opened and secured the hood, locate the spark plug seats at the lower front of the engine, covered by a plastic cover, which is the ignition coil pack. Disconnect the power connector from the coils, remove the fastening bolts, and take out the coil pack along with the boots. Blow around the spark plug seats to remove any dirt, then unscrew the old spark plugs. Apply anti-seize lubricant to the threads of the new spark plugs and screw them in without exceeding the torque specifications. Finally, reverse the process to install the coil pack.
