Clutch Replacement Instructions

To replace the clutch, you need a good understanding of general mechanics as well as some basic tools: ideally, lift the vehicle on a ramp rather than using axle stands; in any case, remove the left front wheel (the one on the gearbox side) to disconnect the steering box tie rod, the ball joint to free the hub, also removing the brake caliper, the link arm to the suspension, and finally extract the driveshaft; remove the plastic cover on the engine, the air filter housing, the battery and its support plate to facilitate access to the gearbox, freeing it from various wiring and the earth cable; then remove the gearbox support crossmember by disconnecting the exhaust support rubber and the gear shift levers; drain the oil from the gearbox before sliding out the driveshaft, remove the starter motor, and apply a support bar to connect the engine and the gearbox during disassembly. Once the gearbox mounting bolts are removed, extract it from its housing with the aid of a jack and proceed with the clutch replacement by removing the bolts of the pressure plate around its circumference (in this case, the flywheel is single mass and generally does not need to be replaced). Use the appropriate centering tool to install the new clutch, replace the release bearing inside the gearbox, grease the forks, and proceed in reverse to reinstall everything, paying attention to the insertion of the driveshaft without forgetting the locking circlip.
