Instructions for Dismantling the CIM Module

Model: Vauxhall Vectra Vectra C, MK 3 - Years 2002-2008

To access the CIM module (which controls and manages the steering wheel controls and the indicator stalk), first unscrew the fixing screws of the plastic covers around the controls: there are two front screws whose heads are masked by caps; remove the caps and unscrew the screws. Once the covers are removed, release the indicator stalk control levers by pressing the respective locking tabs and proceed to dismantle the airbag container: there are holes behind the steering wheel where you can insert a small spanner and lever to release the fixing springs. Once the airbag is released, disconnect the connectors attached to it and carefully extract them. Then unscrew the steering wheel fixing pin and remove it from the steering column shaft: at this point, you can extract the spiral group, paying attention to align the arrows and not to rotate it in any way during disassembly to complete further disassembly on the bench rather than in the vehicle as shown in the video. In any case, once the plastic cover is removed, access to the electronic board is gained, where the control supports can be removed. After repair, it may be necessary to perform calibration with the diagnostic tool.
