This video shows the disaster of the timing belt on this Peugeot 3008, which is literally falling apart, with debris completely clogging the oil filter from pieces of the belt itself. There will obviously be more debris suspended in the engine oil circuit, and we can imagine the condition of the belt.

Naturally, the oil pressure warning light has come on, and the vehicle was urgently stopped at a relatively low mileage of 40,000 miles (just over 63,000 kilometres). As a result, the timing belt, the filter, the water pump, the oil pump, and of course the engine oil and filter need to be changed.

It’s fortunate that the belt didn’t break, as that would have caused much greater damage to the engine.
