Disassembly of Front Door and Related Components

To disassemble the door, start by removing the cover that conceals the screw from the handle on the armrest. Unscrew the screw, removing the handle and the electric window button after disconnecting the electrical connections. Remove the frame of the door release lever and the speaker grille. Take out the other two covers (one at the top under the mirror and the other at the bottom left) and unscrew the screws. Continue by unscrewing all the screws of the speaker and extract it from its housing after disconnecting the wires. Remove the inner cover of the external mirror support and unscrew the relevant screws. Disconnect the mirror from the outside, also removing the electrical connections. Now unclip to disassemble the door panel. Drill out the two rivets that secure the door pull anchorage. Remove the moisture barrier plastic sheet, which you can save or tear as shown in the video. Drill out the other three rivets of the door release lever and remove it by detaching the lock control rod. Remove the child lock mechanism and related lock control rods. Take out the plastic lock support and disconnect the central locking connector. Remove the remaining control rods from the external handle, then unscrew the actual lock. Unscrew the screws of the external lock and remove the support and handle from the outside. Reconnect the window lift cables and lower the glass halfway. From this position, free the glass from the support. Now lower the support to its full extent. Slightly lower the glass with your hands and remove all the guides and seals of the window. Extract the glass from the door. Unclip and remove the connector on the window motor. Loosen the screws holding the motor without completely unscrewing them and slide it out from the door frame. Now, to disconnect the door cables from the rest of the system, you need to lift the trim. It is easier on the passenger side, while on the driver’s side you will need to remove the fuse box and the bonnet release mechanism. Remove the rubber cover to access the connectors. Move the red tab to one side to release the connectors. The door connectors are inside a plastic ring. Remove the ring and extract the door connection plugs through the bodywork. Now unscrew the door retaining rod and then the actual door hinges. Before this last step, get someone to help support the door or secure it to something sturdy to prevent it from falling and getting damaged. Required tools: 10mm socket, Torx screwdrivers T20, T30, star screwdriver.
