Replacing Rear Brake Pads

Model: Porsche 911 996 - Years 1997-2005

Lift the vehicle on the lift and remove the wheel. Disconnect the brake fluid line that feeds the piston, then remove the caliper by taking off the two bolts with a ratchet wrench. Remove the worn pads and replace them with two new ones of the same type. Before installation, clean any dirt with a brush. Reinstall the bracket, cleaning and lubricating the mounting bolts, then tighten them with a wrench. Reattach the caliper. The pad with the electrical contacts should be mounted facing inward, paying attention to the direction of travel. Realign the piston by pushing it inward and check the fit of the pads against the rotor.
