Porsche Boxster - Video tutorial

Model: Porsche Boxster 986, MK 1 - Years 1996-2004
Part: Radiator
Operation: How to replace the coolant on the Porsche Boxster 986

The guide shows you how to bleed and replace the engine coolant of the Porsche Boxster 986. To drain the old coolant you need to safely lift the car and remove the plastic panel at the rear. From the bottom of the vehicle it is possible to open the relief valve. Open the coolant tank cap to facilitate exit; It is necessary to let the remaining liquid flow into the ducts by detaching the three sleeves that reach the tank. Now it is possible to clean the system; lift the plastic panel under the filling cap and open the valve and finally fill the tank with the cleaning fluid. If the Porsche is the Techtronic version, then fuse B1 must be disconnected to disable the shutoff valve control system. At this point it is possible to start the engine and bring it to working temperature, checking the ignition of the front radiator fan. Run the engine at 2500 rpm for 5 minutes with peaks of 5000 rpm every 30 seconds. Stop the engine and repeat the procedure again. Stop the engine and install fuse B1. Drain the fluid reservoir again and close the vent valve. At this point it is necessary to fill the tank with the new liquid. Carry out the ignition maintenance procedure as previously performed and top up the fluid. If the engine temperature rises excessively it may be necessary to bleed the air or add more coolant.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
