Subaru XV engine oil replacement? Let's see how to replace the oil together with the engine filter. We open the car door and pull up the engine compartment opening lever located at the bottom left of the dashboard, lift up the front hood. Unscrew the large locking pin of the container cap where the oil filter is located, extract the worn oil filter. We lift the car with a jack and unscrew the pin of the oil pan; let the liquid flow into a container. We mount a new oil filter in the engine compartment and top up the new fluid and close the front hood.
