How to Clean the MAF Sensor of the Toyota Aygo 1.0

On the Toyota Aygo 1.0, the mass air flow (MAF) sensor does not exist as a separate component. The system uses a combined MAP (manifold absolute pressure) and IAT (intake air temperature) sensor, located just before the throttle valve. This data is used by the ECU to calculate the amount of fuel to inject, comparing it with the oxygen sensors for any corrections. To clean this sensor, you do not intervene on a classic MAF. Instead, you need to remove the throttle body, which is easily accessible on this 1.0 three-cylinder engine. Disconnect the electrical connector, unscrew the four screws, and detach the intake hose. Once extracted, spray a specific sensor cleaner (without using aggressive degreasers) on the internal surfaces and the MAP/IAT sensor. Allow it to dry thoroughly, then reassemble everything. Do not touch the delicate parts with tools, or you will irreparably damage them.
