How to Replace the Front Brake Pads on a Toyota Tacoma Mk2

This guide shows how to replace the brake pads on a Toyota Tacoma Mk2. First, lift the vehicle and remove the cap from the brake fluid reservoir. Remove the bolts and detach the wheel. Remove the retaining clips from the brake pad retaining pins and detach the spring. Unscrew the hydraulic line mounting bolt and attach the fluid recovery system to the designated valve. Remove the two 17 mm bolts from the caliper and extract the pads. Push the pistons all the way in and clean the rotor and caliper. Reassemble everything in position and install the new pads lubricated with the appropriate lubricant. Reassemble everything in position and check the operation of the braking system.
