How to Remove the Front Brake Disc and Pads on a Volkswagen Passat

Learn how to remove the front brake disc and pads on a Volkswagen Passat. Position your car on a column lift, raising it to a comfortable height for work. Unscrew the bolts with a socket wrench (or air impact wrench) and remove the wheel. Next, begin to unscrew the bolts of the brake caliper (detach it from the support). Use a screwdriver to detach the brake pads; remove the caliper support and unscrew the bolts on the brake disc (using a Torx screwdriver), then pull the disc towards you to remove it from the hub. Fit the new brake disc with all the associated bolts, tighten the caliper support and the pads, then refit the brake caliper, ensuring all bolts are tightened properly. Before refitting the wheel, bleed the brake caliper and tighten the bolt.
