How to Remove the Fuel Pump on a Volkswagen Up

Remove the fuel pump on a Volkswagen Up. First, lift the engine bonnet and secure it with the prop rod, then remove the engine soundproofing panel and secure the fuel access to the engine. Disconnect the battery cables, then remove the rear seat of the car. Use a socket spanner to unscrew the fastening screws of the metal cap and (if present, screws) remove it from its seat; cover the perimeter with absorbent paper (to soak up any liquid leaks). Disconnect the power terminals and the liquid circulation hoses (unscrew the large nut as shown in the video). Finally, extract the fuel pump from its housing along with the associated parts.
