How to Remove the Fuel Pump from a Volkswagen Golf

How do you remove the fuel pump from a Volkswagen Golf? First, disconnect the battery cables; remove the rear seat cushions. Use a socket spanner to unscrew the securing bolts of the metal cap and remove it from its seat (disconnect the power connector). Unscrew the large securing pin of the fuel pump with the appropriate tool; disconnect the power connectors and the fluid circulation hoses. Extract the floating fuel pump from its seat along with the attached parts. Refit the new fuel pump in the boot with all the attached parts.
