Oil Filter Replacement

This video begins with an extensive introduction on the importance of checking the oil temperature to correctly determine its level. It then explains how to replace the oil filter on a Volkswagen Jetta. To gain access to the engine compartment, remove the plastic cover protecting it: pull each corner of the cover towards you to detach it. Next, disconnect the air box. Using a screwdriver, disconnect the MAF sensor. With a 5 mm Allen key, remove the screw securing the air filter cover and pull it towards you to remove it. Use your fingers to also detach the tab of the air filter. Using a spanner, also remove the gasket of the filter and the lower part of the tab. Now remove the entire air filter. You also need to remove the battery: obtain a ratchet with an extension and a 16 mm socket, along with a 10 mm spanner to remove the battery and the tray. Now you have access to the oil filter. Remove it and compare it with the new one. Insert the new filter into its compartment. Remember to refit its plastic cover. The final part of the video shows the old filter disassembled and not assembled.
