Removing the intake manifold on a Volkswagen 2.0 TSI engine (the one from the Golf GTI or Audi A3) requires patience, as many components are hidden underneath. Start by removing the plastic engine cover and the entire airbox; disconnect the camshaft position sensor connector, the purge valve, and the brake servo pipe.

Loosen the clamp on the hose leading to the throttle body and disconnect the corresponding electrical connector. To unscrew the fuel line fitting, use a 17mm socket and allow some petrol to escape: the system is under pressure.

Remove the rigid pipe connecting the high-pressure pump to the manifold. Now, lift the car and work from underneath.

Locate the metal bracket holding the manifold, unscrew the 13mm nut fixing it to the engine block, and remove the plastic pipe rising from the intercooler to free up space to reach the manifold bolts. Unscrew the T30 bolts and the two side nuts securing the manifold to the cylinder head, then pull the manifold towards you; there are additional connectors (pressure sensor, flap sensor, injectors) under the wiring; disconnect them as you pull the piece away.

When reassembling, replace all gaskets and O-rings. It’s also a good time to clean the intake valves.

How to Activate the Disabled TRC on the Toyota Yaris?

As the video clearly shows, disabling or activating the traction control (TRC or ESP) on the Toyota Yaris is very simple. By default, the traction system activates every time the vehicle is started. To disable it, simply press the button depicting a skidding car located in the centre of the vehicle where the controls are, such as the hazard lights and the radio, but near the handbrake. Once disabled, the TRC off light will illuminate on the dashboard. To reactivate it, just press the same button again.
