Volkswagen Golf - Video tutorial
Model: Volkswagen Golf
MK 4, Golf IV, Golf 4
- Years 1997-2003 Contamination of the combustion chamber by carbonaceous residues is often due to a worsening of the thermodynamic conditions in which the fuel detonates, generally caused by a reduction in the ability to perfectly atomise the fuel itself, by poor fuel quality or from a loss of efficiency on the part of the ignition system (ignition coils, cables and spark plugs). In any case, it is possible to remove part of these residues without having to disassemble the engine, by using special additives to be added to the fuel tank or by cleaning it by acting directly on the intake system. In this case it is possible to connect to the vacuum system present on the intake throttle body, a small tube from which to suck the engine or a special cleaner (strongly recommended) but also some foam generated by soapy water (prefer the additive) : carbon residues will be eliminated in gaseous form.
