To disable the seatbelt chime on a Volkswagen Golf 5, lift the carpet immediately under the front seat. Under this carpet, you will find two connectors: disconnect the black one for a moment, and perform the same operation for the front seat. While the connector is disconnected, insert the seatbelt, and then reconnect the connector. This way, when you turn on the instrument cluster and unbuckle the seatbelt, you will notice that the chime does not sound.
