Thermostat Replacement

If you need to replace the thermostat, it is advisable to perform this maintenance when the engine is cold to avoid unpleasant burns; in the case of the vehicle in question, the thermostat is located at the front of the engine, just above the oil sump, near the alternator: to extract the thermostat, you must move the power steering pump from its position. Start by disconnecting the hoses attached to the thermostat assembly by releasing the various retaining clips; lift the vehicle to access the undercarriage and loosen the fixing bolts of the power steering pump to remove the auxiliary belt; complete the disassembly of the pump without disconnecting the pipes; once the fixing bolts of the thermostat assembly are accessible, remove them to extract the old thermostat and insert the new one. Then proceed in reverse for reassembly and fill the cooling system with the appropriate antifreeze.
