Removing Front Wheel Drive Shaft

Model: Volvo S70 MK 1 - Years 1996-2000

Obtain a replacement drive shaft, then lift the vehicle on the ramp and remove the wheel. The necessary tools are: 18 mm and 19 mm socket spanners, a 5 mm Allen key, a T-47 Torx key, a set of screwdrivers, and a large hammer. After removing the wheel, detach the brake caliper and support to free the shaft. Remove the brake disc. Apply penetrating oil to the bolts securing the shock absorber and unscrew them. Also remove the support under the shock absorber's wing and free it from the steering arm. Remove the support under the vehicle body that holds the drive shaft. You can now extract the drive shaft. Remove the disc support and insert the new drive shaft into the differential, then reattach the support under the body. Refit the disc, brake caliper, shock absorber, and wheel.
