In this video we see some general indications on how to change the timing belt of a Volvo XC60 D4 diesel. We will need to remove the right front wheel and fender. We will need to lock the serpentine belt located just below with a specific tool. We see the points where to place the stops, which must be marked with a visible marker; the sprocket, the injection pump is another point and then the crankshaft at the point where the youtuber shows us. For disassembly, we must start with the crankshaft pulley, removing the four central screws, then the tensioner pulley, the guide roller and the water pump: all accessories that we take the opportunity to change. We first change the water pump, then we change the tensioner roller and the other small roller. The last thing to reinstall is the injection pump, where we must tighten the four screws. Now we can put the belt back in place, and we make the engine run a few times to see if it is properly positioned. We check the timing points and we should be good to go.
