Instructions for Removing ABS Control Unit

Model: Volvo S80 - Years 1998-2006
Part: Control unit

To access the ABS pump control unit, you need to remove the air filter housing.
Disconnect the connector attached to the mass air flow sensor located near the air filter housing and undo the tightening screw of the clamp securing the connected hose.
Release the 3 retaining clips of the air filter housing cover, the two vacuum hoses, and remove it from its seat.
Pull out the air filter, disconnect the pipes connected to the filter housing, and pull it upwards firmly to extract it from its seat.
Remove the cover of the control unit and extract the two 30 A fuses from the ABS control unit.
To access the fastening pins (E5 torx) of the ABS control unit, it may be necessary to move the brake fluid pipes connected to the pump by bending them carefully; then undo the fastening pins and extract them, taking care not to drop them into the engine bay.
Disconnect the connector attached to the control unit, ensuring to open the securing latch fully, press the tabs of the other connector attached laterally, and then extract the control unit.
