How to Replace Engine Oil and Filter

In this video, you will see the procedure for replacing the engine oil and filter on a BMW E30. First, gather a new container of engine oil, a filter (with the corresponding gasket), 13 mm and 17 mm wrenches, and a pan to collect the used oil. After opening the hood, position the pan under the vehicle and, using the 17 mm wrench, remove the plug from the oil pan: the old fluid will drain into the collection pan. While the fluid drains, you can replace the filter: unscrew its cap with the 13 mm wrench and, using a screwdriver, detach the gasket from the cover. Replace both the plug gasket and the one for its locking screw. Now extract the used filter, insert a new one, and reposition the filter cover. Finally, reinstall the oil pan bolt (use a new washer) and pour in the new engine oil!

Position the car on a ramp or flat surface and immobilise it. Now, open the boot lid and, inside, corresponding to the rear light where you want to replace the indicator bulb, remove the small plastic cover using a screwdriver.
