How to reset the brake wear warning light on a BMW 1 Series?

To reset the brake wear warning light on a BMW 1 Series, first replace the brake pads that need changing. Once installed, enter the cabin, switch on the ignition, and press the button at the bottom left of the instrument cluster: this will display an icon with a circle between two brackets. Use the stalk to the left of the steering wheel to find the option with the brake wear icon and the rear of the car: by holding down the BC button on the stalk, you can reset the warning light.
