How to Top Off the Transmission Fluid of the BMW 5 Series

Generally, the automatic transmission fluid should be replaced every 60,000 miles, along with the replacement of the integrated filter located in the oil pan of the transmission. It is advisable that this maintenance be performed by qualified personnel, especially those equipped with the proper equipment known as a flushing machine. This is essentially a pump that introduces clean fluid while extracting the old fluid. This operation ensures a complete fluid replacement, properly draining the converter as well. The level is reached when the fluid begins to overflow from the fill plug.
