How to replace the starter motor of the Citroën Xsara Picasso

Replacing the starter motor on a Citroen Xsara Picasso car is a complex operation but can still be done independently. Before removing the starter motor, it is advisable to disconnect the negative and positive terminals from the battery to prevent a short circuit during the operation. After disconnecting the battery, disconnect the air filter connector and unscrew the screws on the filter cover to remove it and have more space for the next steps. Disconnect the starter motor terminal connector to cut off the current using a torque wrench with a 20mm insert, unscrew the bolts that secure the motor to the engine and remove it. Screw the new starter motor onto the engine using a wrench with a 20mm insert and connect the terminal for its operation. Connect the air filter connector and mount the box in its housing. Connect the positive terminal to the battery and also the negative terminal to resume the current flow inside the vehicle.
