How to Replace Engine Oil and Filter on GMC Sierra 1500 Mk3

This guide shows how to change the engine oil on the GMC Sierra 1500 Mk3. The drain valve and engine oil filter are located just behind the front suspension frame. You can perform the draining operation without a lift. On the passenger side, access the drain valve, which can be unscrewed with a 15 mm wrench to allow the flow of used lubricating fluid. Place a container for used oil storage under the vehicle. Using an oil filter wrench, unscrew the fuel filter and replace it with a new element that has had its seal lubricated. From the engine compartment, fill the oil reservoir with the appropriate fluid. Start the engine for a few seconds, check the level, and top off if necessary.
