Video tutorial

In this video, we will look at the issues that can cause the "i-stop" warning light to illuminate on a Mazda 3. If the light is steady, there may be suboptimal conditions for activation, such as the air conditioning being on, or the battery charge is not optimal.

Keep in mind that an open door, unfastened seatbelts, or the steering wheel turned to the maximum can also prevent the component from functioning.

If the light is flashing, it could indicate a problem with the 12V battery being discharged or degraded: AGM batteries typically last 2 to 3 years, and symptoms include slow starting and other dashboard warnings. It could also be a faulty alternator or sensor, meaning the alternator may not be charging the battery correctly; this issue could arise for the auxiliary battery in models that have one. In these two cases, we need to check the battery charge, which should be between 13.8 and 14.4 with the engine running.

If you replace the battery, you should drive for about half an hour to allow the ECU to recalibrate.

Location of the Jack and Spare Wheel of the Toyota Yaris

In the unfortunate event that one of the wheels of the Toyota Yaris is punctured, it is useful to know the location of the lifting jack, the spare wheel, the tool to operate the jack, and to unscrew the wheel bolts. The jack is located under the driver's seat, secured to a bracket and protected by a plastic cover, which you can remove by acting on the fixing clips. The spare wheel is located under the floor panel of the boot, secured to the floor by a threaded plastic flange, alongside which you will find the tool, consisting of a bent bar, which is used to operate the jack on one side and to remove the wheel on the other.
