Replacing Engine Oil and Oil Filter

Model: Mercedes Classe C W202 - Years 1993-2000

Before starting, obtain the oil and the original replacement filter, then lift the car and secure it with appropriate supports so it cannot fall. The necessary tools are a ratchet wrench, a set of open-end wrenches, a special tool for removing the filter, and a basin for collecting the oil. Position the basin under the engine to collect the oil. Unscrew the oil cap on the oil pan and let it drain. Using the special tool, unscrew the filter and remove the cartridge. Replace the used filter cartridge with a new one and reinstall the filter. Also, replace the copper gasket on the oil cap and that of the filter. Close the oil cap, reinstall the oil filter, and top off with new oil, checking the level with the appropriate dipstick. Do not dispose of used oil in the environment; take it to designated collection centers.
