How to Reset the Automatic Transmission on the Mercedes A-Class W176

The procedure to reset the automatic transmission is done manually and does not require a diagnostic tool; this reset allows you to clear the adaptive parameters of the transmission and enables the control unit to learn new parameters based on your driving style. To perform the reset, turn the ignition on without starting the engine, press and hold the accelerator pedal to the floor for at least 40 seconds, and while still holding it down, turn off the ignition without removing the key. Then, release the pedal after 5 seconds. Wait at least 5 minutes without removing the key from the ignition. After this time, remove the key, wait a few seconds, then start the engine and take it for a test drive.
