Mercedes Classe C - Video tutorial

Model: Mercedes Classe C W204 - Years 2007-2013
Part: Oil filter
Operation: Engine oil and oil filter replacement

To facilitate this maintenance, it is advisable to lift the car on a lift and remove the stone guard from the lower part of the engine; then intercept the drain plug on the oil sump (located on the side) and, after having positioned a container to collect the used oil, unscrew the plug and proceed with draining. Once the drain is complete, screw the cap back on and refit the protective casing. Then access the engine compartment to replace the oil filter cartridge: once the front part of the plastic engine cover has been removed, the cartridge container cap is immediately found; then unscrew the cap, extract the old filter and replace it with the new one, also changing the o-rings generally present in the filter kit (sprinkle them with oil before screwing on again). Finally, fill the engine with new oil according to the quantities and SAE specifications indicated in the use and maintenance manual.

Handbrake adjustment on Ford Ecosport

First remove the plastic profile at the base of the gear lever. To do this, slightly widen the side edges and carefully lift it to release it. There is no need to remove it completely, just move it forward to avoid bother. Now remove the plastic center console around the handbrake by first working from the rear to release it and lifting it until the brake lever passes. Also in this case it is not necessary to remove it completely but, paying attention to the connected cables, it can be stowed in front of the passenger seat. At this point we notice that at the base of the handbrake lever, on the front, we find a nut. By acting on it, with a 10 wrench, we can adjust the brake force, increasing it by turning the nut clockwise, or decreasing it by turning it counterclockwise. Once adjusted, the center console can be repositioned first, pressing lightly to engage it, and then the profile of the gearbox base.
