How to replace the mechanism of a window on a Peugeot 508

Let's see how to replace the mechanism of a window on a Peugeot 508: first of all, disconnect the negative pole of the battery. Remove the door lock button with a trim tool; remove the speaker grille; then the door handle (there is a cap to remove to access the screw). Use a spatula to lever between the door lining and the metal door to remove the plastic clips, then lift the panel upwards to detach it from its guide; disconnect the electrical cable connectors before removing the lining. Behind the lining there is an insulating sheet that we will have to remove delicately, because we will have to reposition it later. Now let's look at the window regulator motor; disconnect the electrical connector, lower the window until the two fixing screws are accessible through the metal; secure the glass in position with strong adhesive tape to prevent it from falling and breaking. Position the new mechanism, screw the fixing screws without tightening them, remove the tape that secures the glass, align the holes in the glass with the supports of the new mechanism and tighten the fixing screws. Lower and raise the glass by hand to check that it works well, then tighten the screws. Reconnect the connector to the motor and reconnect the battery, performing a functionality test. If everything is in order, replace the insulating sheet in its place and then reassemble the door lining, reconnecting the electrical connectors, pressing all the clips, inserting and tightening the screws, reassembling the controls and the speaker grille and it's done!
